So I've been trying to digest the Palin pick all weekend
and go back and forth. I've finally come to the following conclusion:
Picking Palin is either the most brilliant or most boneheaded thing McCain could have done. I can't decide which. Perhaps time will tell. But there is no middle ground.

The boneheaded part seems to be supported by the poll numbers. Hard to imagine that when we look back in history, the decision to choose a no-named ex mayor from Alaska will prove to be brilliant. But you never know.

Does anyone know what Obama has said in the last two days, outside his comments about Palin?
Nope. Obama was the big story in this election. Now Palin is. Now when Palin talks, everyone is going to be listening, wondering if disaster is going to strike. Palin has pulled Obama off-stride for sure. |

Saw a recent interview with McCain touting her "executive experience". My favorite executive experiences he listed -- city council and PTA. That's what I'm talking about!

Yes, Palin is the big story these days. For all the wrong reasons. McCain's poll numbers have dropped. And nobody is paying any attention to the RNC. I am sure the Republicans are thrilled with all the press Palin has received in the past 24 hours. I think I read that she has no speaking engagements today or tomorrow. Nice.

It goes to the point that a woman who works in the PTA, and that is her level of involvement and political connection, then rises up to be VP nominee, with no particular money or connections that would have predicted it? That's an amazing thing. It would not surprise me if this woman had talents extraordinaire when it comes to politics.

Yeah I was right. Nobody knows what Obama is saying other than his colleagues have been too nasty towards Palin. And comparing himself to her saying he has more experience--AND HIS TRUMP CARD IS THAT HE HAS RUN A PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN!!!!
So funny. When Obama had to discuss how his campaign budget was greater than her city budget, he truly lost it. |
