You asked how a person can strongly disapprove of Obama's performance before he even takes office. Thus my query- did you notice that neither the strongly approve nor strongly disapprove numbers started at zero on day one? Hint: they never do. Obama's initial numbers were fairly remarkable, particularly for the strongly disapprove category (given how divisive the political climate has been the past decade).

I don't think it is me who is struggling to understand the chart.
