They found the body of little Destiny Norton...
She was found in the basement of the neighbor whom they suspected.
The bastard should die a slow death and rot in hell.

Man, that is just really, really sad. For some reason I had hope on this one. This just breaks your heart. What is wrong with some people? How could anyone kill a 5 year old? Hell will hold a special place for that man. What is really sad is that the mom reportedly had an argument with Destiny immediately before her disappearance. Destiny went outside to cool off. I hope the mom doesn't blame herself for this one. She had an argument with her daughter. She didn't kill her daughter. The sick evil servant of the devil did that. |

He was, however, arrested for domestic abuse previously.
Here is KSL's report of the story... absolutely sick. http://www.ksl.com/?nid=148&sid=380101 I'm so furious right now as well... things like this really get to me. My heart really goes out to the family. There are so many questions as well... how long was she there? How long was she alive for? Why the hell would you be such a sick bastard to kill an innocent 5 year old girl? Disgusted, I really am. |

Also, if the dude's house backed up next to neighbor's houses, isn't that reason enough to do a search? Especially if she disappeared from her backyard...

An evil mind...one can not prepare against it
It is so disgusting it is beyond words for someone to kill an innocent little one.
That is why it is always such a tragedy, is that no one can even comprehend such evil thoughts or prepare for and protect against such thinking. How does one predict how baseless one can get. I have three daughters, one is four years old and is the most pure spirited, sweet thing you would ever meet. As I listened to the report of Destiny this morning on the radio, I couldn't help think of my daughter and if someone hurt, abused, killed her and put her through something like this. I must admit, it brought tears to my eyes as even now it does to write this. People like this will surely pay a heavy heavy price one day. |

Obviously the loss of a child is a true tragedy. However, the part that I see as most damaging is the aftermath.
Last night the "mourners" almost rioted. The family (via their spokesperson) is lashing out at the police, the FBI, etc... There is so much pain and anger and fear after this. Even if they torture, kill and then urinate on the remains of the perpetrator, it will never be enough to give those left behind the closure they need. There is the real tragedy in my mind. Destiny is gone and in a better place. Her family, friends, and neighbors will now have to live the rest of their lives dealing with the struggle to forgive, move on, and learn to love and trust again.

I don't like it, but I think (i'm no lawyer) that's the hurdle they were facing. My prayers go out to the family and I'm happy I know she is in a much better place.
