I'm not sure I should be offended by this. Why did you leave Whit out? Because his name doesn't begin with P? But it is a disparaging comment. On the other hand, I can anticipate your views about whether Whit could have assembled a first rate staff. So I guess I am offended, unless you were going for a PP chiasmic effect, in which case it's cool.

Umm, no, the two coaches who left their teams in the lurch recently did not leave a COLLEGE team. Those two were Saban and Petrino. They both left ****NFL***** teams.

The point being is that it is a good hire, esp with the staff he is bringing in. In the past day, Ed O has received re-commits from several top recruits, putting SC in place to still finish with a Top 5-7 class, maybe better. And the world is a better place in which to live when SC is doing well.
