Default Giac's defense

I was watching Texas Tech, and was supremely unimpressed with their defense.

Yet I know that Bobby Knight is well-known and well-regarded for his defensive coaching and philosophy.

Folks, it's not always on the coach. Sometimes the players just plain stink and don't put out the effort.

I will be very amused if Utah has a poor defense next year. It's not that unlikely.

Their D might not come together until they get better players, but I guarantee they'll rebound. You can't be a descendant of Jud Heathcote and not rebound.

Bobby Knights' worst season of coaching is better than Giac's best season without the college player of the year.

Giac recruited these players and if they suck, it's his fault for recruiting them and not teaching them to be better.

Santos is right - the Utes will be better rebounders just because of the fact that Boylen comes from the coaching loins of Heathcoate.

Boylen's comment that "if a guy goes through the lane he's going to get hit" tells me that he's a defensive minded guy.

So now you're passing definitive judgment on Knights defense. Is there any subject on which you don't claim to be an expert?

Yes. My high school coach ran the Knight offense and defense.

That's pretty funny. Seattle Ute chiding someone for not being enough of an expert to have an opinion on a particular sports topic.

Well he was recalling on his 70's/early 80's experience, so he's probably safe. That seems to be the extent of his sports knowledge.

Everyone humors Santos with his ridiculous cooked numbers.

92% of the comments you make about sports are from the the late 70's/early 80's. I have a database set up to track this sort of thing.
