Default My offseason training plan for Plaisted

1. 1,000 FT's per week
2. Go hang out in a big city--LA, DC, NYC, Detroit--and play pick up ball with the brothers for a couple weeks. Get in a few fist fights. You won't die. Learn what it takes to rebound in traffic. Nobody will be there to protect you--no ref's no coaches. But you'll survive.
3. Come back home for a month, find a personal coach to teach you some big man moves. Work on a drop step. Work on turning base line. Work on feeling where the defense is and rolling away from the D not into it because they cheat towards the middle every time and you never learn and always turn into the defender because all you know how to do is turn to the middle. Work on defensive positioning. Learn how to take advantage of your quickness, height, and strength on D and on O.
4. Spend a couple weeks in Philly, wearing a grimy, gray sweatsuit, doing situps, punching frozen beef, and drinking raw eggs.
5. See a sports pyschologist once a week that tells you gosh darn you're good enough as you are.
6. Practice with my high school coach who will tear you down, call you chicken shit when you play like it, but teach you how to play like a man.
7. Put your left hand on a burning stove. Just enough that it will take a few weeks to heal. Wrap it up for a few weeks and play right handed.
8. Spend four hours a day in a weight room.
9. Find the old Chinese master Uma Thurman went to in Kill Bill and spend a couple weeks under his tutelage.
10. NO PRACTICING 3-POINTERS. NO WORKING ON YOUR F'ING "PERIMETER" GAME. NO DRIBBLING.

Plaisted has great talent, but I am seeing why Majerus didn't want him and said he had a peanut brain.

He went to the Big man camp during last off-season. He and Jason Smith from Colorado State roomed together and became good friends.

It was an Adidas camp, not Pete Newells. I read the story on it, Hoffa went to Pete Newells between his Jr and Sr year and look what happened.

Forget Newell's camp. Send him to Santos' camp. My personal favorites were:

Burn your left hand so that it takes a few weeks to heal and

Spend a couple weeks in Philly, wearing a grimy, gray sweatsuit, doing situps, punching frozen beef, and drinking raw eggs.

Sounds like a scene you might find in Bench Warmers
