I personally don't enjoy making picks. Because then I start rooting for my picks, instead of the team that I instinctively root for while watching.

Or you could make multiple brackets. That way you can root for who you want to win and if you have enough brackets rolling then you have a bracket somewhere that has done well, and one or two that go according to what you wish would happen.
