Movies that lose their appeal
Do you ever watch a movie for the first time in years, but find it is rather stupid the second time around?
Last night I watched City of Angels, and couldn't finish it because it was so retarded. But get this: nine years ago when I was dating Lisa, it somehow became 'our movie,' and I grew fond of it. Other movies that I recently watched that I used to enjoy, but found myself bored this time around: Coming to America Wayne's World Hamlet (Mel Gibson) Scrooged Footloose |

I can't think of any movie that I've seen more than once that has lost it's appeal. Perhaps it's because I only watch movies I like more than once.

I will second Footloose.
Also, I loved Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory when I was a kid, but when I saw it a couple of years ago with my son, I couldn't believe how stupid it was. (However, I liked the book and the Tim Burton movie quite a bit.) I imagine if I saw Billy Madison again or any of the other Adam Sandler movies I loved as a teenager they would lose their appeal. |
