Ragbrai

My friend did this ride this summer with some of his friends. He is in his late 50s, Chicago midwestern stock. Anyway, he says the first night of camping was kind of wild. People getting drunk. There wasn't enough room in the camper for all of them, so he volunteered to sleep outside. So he beds down, and after asleep, he is awoken by a woman's voice, "Do you want my boobs in your face?" He opens his eyes and the woman dashes off. I told him that it was quite rude for her to leave before he could answer. He agreed. Apparently there was a big group skinny dipping in the creek next to the campsite. This is a week long ride across Iowa. To be registered apparently you have to enter a lottery. But he says half the riders there weren't registered. I asked what advantage there was to be registered. He said you can get a reserved campsite, but otherwise no advantage. |

RAGBRAI, from what I know about it, is more of a social ride/event. It's definitely not a race.

So are you using it to break ten hours for the double century? It's a double, isn't it?

Yes...it's roughly 200 miles.
If I can make this "essentially flat" 200 miler...then my next baby will be the LOTOJA.
