Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

Actually, I used to work for a massive, multi-national Insurance company. Great job, and the golden hangcuffs made it a great work environment -in the building there was:

>Cafeteria with restaurant quality food
>Health club, with excercise classes and opportunity to participate at any hour through out the work day
>Day Care, play ground, classrooms and teachers up to JK
>Dental office, with staff on site three days a week
>Doctors office, with doctor in 3 days a week and nurse on site 5 days a week

Most people get a job with the company and never leave -on the way home employees could call up the Caf and order a dinner for four to go - you have to pay of course but it was reasonable!

The great thing about the doctors office was the 'nap' room. If at anytime an employee felt awful they could tell their supervisor they needed to lie down and could go and see the nurse. She would place you on a cot and set an alarm clock ... many days when I showed up at 8:00 and left at 7:00 the nap room was wonderful blessing.

Still, this was company policy, not government and of course I certianly worked more than 35 hours a week!
