Default Romney as Superman

Here's an interesting viewpoint:

Quote:
I was not a fan of the Kill Bill movies, but I did appreciate one scene, near the end of KB2, that displayed the genius for pop banter that had characterized Quentin Tarantino's earlier films. In it, David Carradine explains (not entirely accurately) that Superman is unique among comics: Whereas most superheroes' secret identities (Bruce Wayne, Peter Parker) are their true identities--the people they were before their parents were murdered or they were bitten by radioactive spiders or exposed to gamma rays or what have you--Superman was born Superman. It's Clark Kent that is the invented alias, the pose, the "costume." And in the way Superman plays Kent--weak, self-doubting, cowardly--we can see what he thinks of the human race overall.
It occurred to me that the same is true of Mitt Romney's desperate, if never terribly persuasive, impersonation of a conservative Republican. That persona--angry, simple-minded, xenophobic, jingoistic--is exactly what Romney (who is himself cultured, content, and cosmopolitan) imagines the average GOP voter to be.

Or, as we would say around here, the masses are asses.

I agree. That's what Mitt believed.

So you and he agree, then. The difference being that he ran for prez and he owns a TV so doesn't have ot pretend to be hanging out in a bar by sheer chance when a game comes on he wants to watch.

If I ran for governor of Utah I'd act like BYUTexan. But you guys think my perspective is dated. I wonder if I'd win.

Further proof you are just like what you describe Mitt to be.

And he's right, the masses ARE asses. Problem is, they are bigger asses than he thought. Big enough asses to not realize that Mitt was the most capable candidate.

DO you think batman ever had a conflict of interest? Like maybe the Joker is about to destroy some chemical plant that is owned by a omcpetitor to Wayne Industires and so maybe Batman is just a LITTLE late to arrive and save the day. Maybe he saves the poeple but sadly the plant is destroyed?

Okay, good dilemna, but what about this one.

What if Batman had a vision that Robin would die in the saving of the chemical plant? Would he bring Robin along or leave him back in the Bat Cave to sweep up and clean the Batroom?

Hmmm. Tough one. Would that make Batman a prophet?
