Default First signs of "white discomfort" with a polynesian coach and staff

We have a whole lot of white fans who want the face of BYU football to be white, and the stars (for the most part) to be white.

I predict there will be some ugliness as we go through this transition.

To me, it appears that fetishization of Polynesians is at an all-time high.

CB is comfy with minorities as long as they know their place. Start getting uppity like Vai Sikahema, or pushing Obama like Cougarmom, and you'll lose favor.

That is doubtful. Mormons strive for acceptance so much that minority athletes will be deified for the most part. That doesn't mean if there are some HC violations that the Relief Society Presidency won't have a thing or two to say about it but as a rule, LDS view themselves as non-discriminatory and above racism, history notwithstanding.

In fact, if we can minoritize the football team further and dilute the white face even more, it might go a way toward changing attitudes among the leaders.

Although there may be some honorifics toward minorities, LDS generally do not understand minority cultures. Ignorance will surface from time to time, but hopefully all of this can be a good thing.

It's getting ugly now.

The ones steadfastly denying there is a cultural divide on this team at the heart of most of this season's problems are the same kind of thinkers as the politicians who refused to use the term Islamic Extremist. Just keep living in that state of denial and look the other way while the problem grows.
This Michael McQuain guy. Trump-supporting Uber-driving redneck.

He also said that BYU was starting to look like "University of Tonga and Samoa," and that white athletes weren't getting a fair shot. Fortunately, that was deleted.

A couple of Saturdays mornings ago, a non-donor was preying on disaffection with Holmoe and Sitake, using neo-Nazi codewords like "cultural Marxism" and "red-pill."

Once the team went off the rails, this was bound to happen.

The last bastion of all-white athletics is not going to give it up easily.

The football team has been majority non-white for a few years. It pre-dates Sitake. Not to say I disagree with the concern that we have some racist fans.

well duh I know they are not all white. But I venture to say that they are and have been more white than most every time of a similar caliber.

I doubt there is any D1 team other than Hawaii that has as many Polynesians though. Maybe Utah comes kind of close.
