Default Running shoes

So, somebody recently posted which shoes he'd selected.

I'm curious what you guys use.

I've heard that what are popularly referred to as "running shoes" (Nike, etc.) are actually dangerous to run in...as they are so structured and cushioned that they prevent proper foot placement and weaken the feet and lower legs. This ends up leading to greater likelihood of running injuries.

Any truth to any of that?

I wear Brooks. They have a narrow heel and somehat wide foot.

My wife swears by the Asics gel 1100 series.

I think that was me. The Nike Air Moto IV + shoe... I don't know if they're comfortable to run in yet, but I look really cool in them. I'm going to a place, per ewth8tr's recommendation to have them look at me run and see which shoe is the best for me... hopefully the pick the one I already bought!!

I wear Brooks as well: http://www.runningwarehouse.com/descpageMRS-BTRA6M.html
This shoe is great for me to give me the stability as well as the cushioning that I need for running.

Each person's foot is so different that it is difficult to tell you which brand you should buy. My wife and I buy one of three brands: Addidas, Brooks and New Balance. But, I know others that will only buy Asics. It just depends on your style of running (neutral, pronating, etc.) and which shoes feels best on your feet.

I think most foot injuries result in wearing a shoe that is simply improper for what you are trying to do. I would pick out a name brand but that was cheap...it wasn't right for my feet and for my running and I hurt my feet. Now I have a shoe that can support me and limit my injuries.

These are mine, I think. http://www.runningwarehouse.com/descpageMRS-BR06M.html

HA HA mine are cheaper.

But I need a neutral shoe. Had them a year now, and is probably time to get another pair.

Asics Gel Kayano. If you wish to order some, I'll give you my size and address.

Yep, they are cheaper, but my shoes laugh in the face of your shoes and call your shoes 'pansy shoes.'
