His advice is sound.
Pride, It also might be helpful to define your goals. How often and how far you run will depend on what you want to do. Build speed? Endurance? Run a half-marathon? Drop weight? Just something to think about.

I just went over to the Salt Lake Running Company and had them watch my running to help pick out some new running shoes. They saw that I was over-pronating, so they had me try out a bunch of structured shoes to keep that from happening. My knee has really been hurting after my runs, so hopefully these shoes will help. I tried on a bunch of different brands, but here are the ones I ended up getting.

i would like to do all those things! first and foremost i want to drop 17 more lbs. to put me at 170. next item of importance would be endurance... i don't care so much about speed right now. 5k? 10k? half marathon? not even thinking that right now.

thanks for the advice..

The one I went up to is on about 31st south and highland drive, it's in a strip mall on the west side of highland. I think they have one out in draper too. Here is their website.

It takes quite awhile to build up miles this way, but it will minimize your risk of overuse injuries.

sound advice! thank you...
