One thing I had forgotten about cost me several minutes this morning. A cyclist weighs too little to trip most of the lights around this town. I had to sit through 2 or 3 cycles at 3 different intersections because no cars were turning left and I couldn't trip the light. Frustrating!!!

Most of the ones around here are magnetic. Given that I ride an aluminum bike wihtout much mass, I can never trip them. I just wait until it's safe and then I go. Illegal I realize, but I'll take my chances.

That is how I look at my carpooling. The lady I carpool with drives me nuts most of the time and I would really like that 15 minutes to have to myself, and not listen to her lack of interior monologue. But I save 10 dollars a week doing it , so I will continue to do so. Sometimes I wonder if I am selling my sanity for too cheap a price.
