He is much more of a suspect in Europe (where they cant stand an American dominating their tour) than he is in the US. He is rarely talked about in the US outside of maybe cycling circles. Barry Bonds is talked about by anyone and everyone.

This is true. In France in particular they have no doubt that he doped. I think he is very suspect, however. The difference betw2een he and Bonds is that the only real evidecne against armstrong is 1. his success agaisnt others who have admitted doping, have tested positive, or are almost certainyl dopers; 2. reports from third parties that he was invovled in shady dealings. Against Bonds you have this and the new hats and shoes he had to buy. Either way, both are pretty suspect in my mind. Both are also big jerks, IMO. LA does at least use his fame and success in a worhtwhile way, whereas Bonds is just a jerk all the time.
