On a religious note, I challenge you to review my posts and find me an LDS viewpoint I have that is extreme. I think you'd find that by-and-large I'm with the mainstream. You only call me extreme because it's vogue to do so on CG.

C'mon Tex, you are a card carrying member of the religious right. You often speak like any true self respecting Eagle Forum member. If you aren't, then you play one on CG for effect.

Duh.
In other words, you are unable to find a religious view I've espoused that is extreme. About what I thought.

Then I issue the same challenge to you, 71. Please show me a view on Mormon doctrine that I've taken which is outside the mainstream.

My assumption from reading your posts would be that you believe counsel from the brethern should be adhered to in all cases. You might even put them in the same category as a commandment.

Am I wrong. Do you think that all counsel from the brethern isn't commandment and doesn't have to be adhered to?

You're conflating two questions.

1. Is all counsel from the brethren commandment?

In my opinion, no it isn't.

2. Should all counsel from the brethren be followed?

As commandment (see #1), no. As counsel, yes. In other words, I think one will find greater satisfaction and happiness in following their counsel than not.

Look, I asked you a simple question. Can you answer it.

Let's put this on me and my age. At my age your discourses confuse me so much I am not sure I know what you really believe. Therefor I have to ask a simple question and see if you will give me a simple answer.

I am not in the mood to point out some doctrine and then have to read one of your lengthy discourses filled with quotes from scriptures the brethern and heaven knows only what other sources you quote.

Can you give me a simple answer to my question so my simple mind can understand it.

This is rich, Tex. You are asking folks to come up with an example which you will most assuredly dismiss out of hand. What a complete waste of time.

And the answer to question 2 I find extreme.

Did I not just do this?

It doesn't surprise me that you would come out in defense of people unable to back up baseless accusations.

Thanks. Your answer to number 1 fits I think into mainstream.

Answer to 2 doesn't matter because of your answer to 1. It is up to the individual to determine his or her own need to follow the counsel.

Thanks

You may. But I'd wager most Mormons wouldn't.
