But you are bagging on the wives. You are implicitly suggesting, first of all, that she is being told what to do by her husband (the husbands are "dragging them out there") as if she can't think for herself. There is a political benefit to having her appear. And maybe she has calculated that the benefit is self serving. Or maybe she is appearing without any regard to the political benefit. For you, or anyone else, to ascribe a motive to her is sad, I think. She is a very bright woman who can stand up for herself. If she wants to appear, more power to her. If she doesn't, more power to her. It isn't my place to question her or her judgment on this issue, or to pretend that her husband tells her what to do and she just nods and says "yes sir."
