I don't think you can criticize me for such preferences. It is not a choice.

Actually, this an obscure joke on my part. There is an old (in internet terms) joke about Louis Midgley interrupting a fondue party involving George Smith (Signature Books) and the Tanners. I thought some here might be aware of it and hence would subsequently realize that besides being the preeminent apologist on the board I also have a delightfully obscure wit.

I have finally gotten to RSR and am about 1/3 through. I think it is great and would encourage everyone to read it, even SU.

Mike, finding a paucoity of other windmills today, decided to tilt at the factual claim asserted by Goatnapper and prove that some or perhaps even most anti and critical books were not sold at DB. Of course, by doing so he also proved the breadth and depth of critical publications that do not depend on the churhc at all for their existnence.

So this leaves us knowing 1) some cirtical books have been or are sold at DB. 2. Most ciritcial books have not been and may never be sold at DB. 3. Pelagius has a strange affinity for Utah COunty Fondue.

Thanks for the clarification. I get lost sometimes. As long as the church doesn't have a question in the Temple interview asking about the books I read, I just don't get into the they are suppressing bad news.

I understand they want to suppress bad news. I wish they wouldn't worry about it as far as BYU athletes go, but it isn't a big deal to me.

He doesn't need to. He read the NYT review.

Maybe you should read it before you decide how you're going to react.

I appreciate all points of view, provided they're well reasoned and grounded in specific examples, as your responses typically are.

That's about how far I'm through it too. Good stuff.

This will elicit some chuckles, but I read everything with an open mind. Reference my review of the 4th chapter of the David O. McKay book.

I just doubt Toscano's words will persuade me.

They probably won't - but maybe your words will persuade me.

Actually, Toscano's book is a little boring. His personal story is pretty interesting, though.
