Well, at the time UCLA was ranked. And the game was close. We had a drive at the end that would have put us ahead but we fumbled inside the UCLA 20.

OK, maybe Mike and I are the only ones that care about this, but I pinged a couple of my buddies from Austin last night and asked them "Which is the bigger rival for Texas, OU or aTm?" Here are the responses:

Friend #1:

OU because we keep losing to them! aTm hasn't been much of a threat in recent years.

Friend #2:

You ask a very difficult question - we hate them both so much!! I would have to give the edge though to atm. Unlike the Red River rivalry, the rivalry with atm is intrastate - they are always around whereas OU (which does suck) leaves the state after their game with us.

Well, it has been a while since I lived there. And aTm sucks so badly lately that maybe the luster is off the rivalry a bit.

If you walk into the stores on Guadalupe Street in Austin, they have lots of Aggie Joke books, Aggie toilet paper, etc. I don't recall any such stuff directed at OU.
