Something so irrelevant and inconsequential as... an anonymous post on CG that you are getting up in arms about?

I had a professor who told me once, "You know, I can remember back when the Church was a church and not just a corporation." If I were a member, I'd be very concerned with the direction the Mormon Church is headed.
It used to really bother me to see GA's write books for profit. I just don't see Jesus selling his gospel. His representatives shouldn't either. Of course, that's just my opinion.

The only ones getting up in arms are those who can't take a joke and/or some sarcasm.

Do GAs write books for profit?

I'll ask one, next time I see them.

Well, I probably won't.

I'll tell you this much: if the General Authorities are doing what they do in order to make money, they're going about it the wrong way. Most of them would never have left their jobs in the first place, if it was about the money.

So you are saying you actually don't mean what you wrote?

And to think I thought you had balls. Welcome to the club of balls-less men. As you were technically the founder (by naming everyone to the club), you can now say you are not only the founder, but also a member!

My bit of Mormon Folklore: LeGrand Richards used to insist that "A Marvelous Work and a Wonder" be sold at cost while he was alive. Once he died, the price of the book jumped up.

Deseret Book sells books for profit. Those books are written by GAs. If the GAs were only writing the book to convey their important message - why not sell the book at cost? Like BlueHair, this has always bothered me a bit. It doesn't bother me enough to get in a twist over it but there's just something "semi-priestcrafty" about the whole thing that I can't quite put my finger on.

I'd better shut up now before I venture into "speaking evil of the Lord's annointed" which is defined by the Brethren as "criticizing the Brethren". Again, a little too self-referential for my taste but...
