If the R's can find a decent candidate for the 8th district, there's no way Grayson survives 2010.
Wow- what a blowhard Matthews can be. The "program" isn't created through reconciliation. It would be created through the Senate bill, which had 60 votes. The "program" is revised through reconciliation. Matthews knows it too.

I certainly have my objections to Grayson, but none from that interview. Grayson was right. Matthews was talking out of his backside.

Umm, no. You don't get carte blanche to revise a program just because you passed it first with non-reconciliation.

It doesn't matter anyway. It's not going to even be attempted.

Who said "carte blanche?" There is quite a bit which can properly be amended through the reconciliation bill which would make the bill palatable to the House. They can and I suspect will do just that. They only need to comply with the Byrd Rule, and I guarantee you they are totally familiar with how that works.

Here's one more "yes" vote Pelosi probably won't be getting again for a reconciliation bill:

Quote:
Rep. Bill Pascrell has called fellow Democrats “arrogant” and referred to a key party talking point as “BS.” He slammed deals cut by leadership and special interests and said, “We’re not going to accept that any longer.”

Agitated and unfiltered, Pascrell has become the guy who’s not afraid to go public with what many rank-and-file House Democrats have been saying behind closed doors.

“The people in Massachusetts sent a clear message,” he said. “If we didn’t get it in New Jersey or Virginia, we should’ve gotten it, certainly, Tuesday.”

...

“We are arrogant when we say, ‘Well, as soon as the public understands what we’re doing, they’ll like it,’” he told a clutch of reporters. “That is not only arrogant, it’s BS.”

Democratic politicians have always viewed the American public as ignorant sheep. That they must protect from victimization.

Well, I'll be damned.

The democrats really are planning to drive off the cliff.

I think there will be rage in the electorate like we have never seen before.

Big stakes gamble. This is strike out at the plate if it happens badly. There's not enough to gain so why are the Dems so arrogant to try to pull this off?
