Christ has said those things are immoral too, yet legislating against them would be nonsensical (such as prohibiting adultery or pornography). In determining if we should legislate against an issue, we must weigh societal benefits versus societal harms and see if the measure is necessary and justifiable. I have yet to hear a strong argument for why, aside from morality and religion, gay marriage should be prohibited. Christ, as I stated, NEVER mentioned if gay marriage should be legislatively banned. He may find it immoral, but that is night and day different from saying it should be illegal. How many times in the New Testament can you point to an attempt by Christ to involve himself in legislation and legal prohibition of a certain action?
