He may have had rough beginnings, but I bet he's a tea and crumpets guy now.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

My guess is that in 10 years, gay marriages will be legalized in the US.

I do not foresee the Church changing its stance on homosexuality.

I also think women will still be without the priesthood.

And I think that 10 years from now, people will still be annoying me by ending their talks to the congregation saying "in the name of THY son..."

Also, if Santos is correct, BYU will have played in a NC game, as well.

And Adam will have filled the vacancy left by Warren Jeffs.

Yes, when I'm golfing. I'd also smoke a cigar or pipe after dinner, drink a single malt for occassional relaxation, drink beer when I watch football, and get addicted to coffee. Hypothetically speaking of course.

Didn't meant to suggest it was church doctrine. Only that McConkie (among others) taught it. I don't know that he ever taught it as doctrine; my recollection was that it was his opinion.

Aren't all the nuns married to Jesus?

I would drink a caffeinated Diet Dr. Pepper and have a chocolate bar.

I would be more surprised if he were not married. Why would he have NOT been married?
