UNLV has had success and last year fared well. They have a good coach for now and will continue to succeed, though they lost a lot this year from past year. I will not argue about BYU's sucky NCAA tourney experiences.

Since Andre graduated even Utah's NCAA success has taken a hit, save for the anomaly of Bogut which was like BYU's Ainge in that he singlehandedly led Utah to some tourney success. I think the U lost in the first round in 2002 and 2004 while winning in 2000 and 2003.
I think the future of Utah is 50% one and done and 50% first round wins then out. Which is better than BYU.

MP, what do you base that rosy scenario on? Boylen may be able to turn that out by "just doing his job," but I only see wins over High Point and something called "USC Upstate" so far during the Boylen Era. Not saying it won't happen, but just curious as to your confidence.

The pesent is but a fleeting snapshot. All else the past. Tradition and its kin reputation are all there is.

I bet modern-day Mongolians, Mayans, and dare I say it, Greeks, would find those sentiments most alluring. And from among them, only the Greeks play a decent game of basketball.

We are the Greeks. They are alive and well, in us. You haven't been paying attention.
