Heh, I didn't "bite", '71. Calling you out for your tired shtick is not "biting."

Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back, though.

Let's take a caricature of Ma'ake...let's say he makes sweeping generalizations about Mormons that just are not true.

Well, that's why it bugs us. Because it does not reflect the reality that we know. Nor does it reflect the empirical evidence, where available.

LOL, you called me out. Is a tired shtick the same thing as an "obsession".

Don't worry about my arm, it is well conditioned to patting myself on the back, especially when I am going back and forth with you.

Probably. You do seem obsessed with it.

As I said before ... you should just stick it in your signature. Would save you a lot of posts.

Now Crackhead will do a novel on Powell showing him to be Jung Archetype for RMs of the LDS Church.
For what it's worth this non-Mormon didn't take anything negative away from the book. And I doubt anyone else who isn't a member of your church or already had an ax to grind did either.

Then again what do I know. I live in happy land with gumdrop trees and chocolate rivers.

Ain't that the truth.

Rereading the article I looks like the local Bishop was the family spokesman, opening the door to the religion link. Then it sounds like the Bishop expounded on how the guy was a return missionary and all. He should have just provided relevant information (the family is sorry, etc.). Sounds like the Bishop talked and the reporter reported what he said.

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

What is "it"? I have a lot of things I am obsessed with. What "it" are you referring to?

This was my thought as well, and the first thing I looked for was if it was a SL Trib story.
