On this I would have to agree with. SIEQ is definitely a contender in the thinnest skin competition.

Frankly, you all have made it a habit to try to point out my supposed faults.

Think about how thin skinned someone has to be to do that.

I make a comment about quibbling, and who comes out of the woodwork? Nobody who wants to discuss the passage, apparently.

I'm happy to discuss the passage with you SIEQ, but since you're such a pansy you put me on ignore, that's not possible.

To everyone else:

Insofar as the word "church" is used in a generic sense, I don't have a problem with the passage. The Lord could just as easily have said "the same is of my fold." We see this term used generically in many passages, not the least of which is in Nephi, "the great and abominable." No less a scriptorian than Bruce McConkie over-interpreted that passage to mean a literal church (a mistaken notion, IMO).

I don't think this passage has any bearing on what determines membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, nor any controlling authority on how the ordinances of said literal church are dispensed or revoked.

SIEQ's position reminds of how some guy "discovered" that "LORD" in the Bible was actually "Jehovah" and started a religion based on it.

It's amazing how people can take one verse of scripture, twist it how they want, and discount thousands of verses to the contrary.

Oh, and I'm fine with being called a mullah. It's meaningless coming from CG'ers.

Nevertheless, I know that you say such things in a spirit of endearment.

I sensed creek was posting with a chip on his shoulder. My apologies to him if I am mistaken.

My point that some have been trying to impose the institutional church on the passage stands. The institutional church is nowhere to be found in this passage. Church is being discussed in a different, and inclusive sense.

Anyone who disagrees is welcome to reason such from the passage.

I am disappointed at the rush to not only reaffirm institutional boundaries, but to actually impose them on a passage.
Like it or not, you have a history of leaving and crying like a prissy little girl when you feel like you're being picked on.

Like it or not, you have a history of trying to tell others how they ought to be expressing their opinions on subjects that they differ with you on.

Like it or not, you act like a spoiled Charles Emerson Winchester like brat when you don't like if something isn't going your way.

So I'm just going to tell you point blank: Quit being a pussy.

I have no problem with anyone who has a differing opinion. That they don't actually account for the text is something that I can legitimately take umbridge with.

And thanks for the affection, Rock. I know for a fact that when you really don't like someone, you don't bother to pull out the colorful language.

You've had many problems, many times when someone offers a differing opinion.

Your arrogance towards Creekster in this thread is just of one many examples.

It doesn't have anything to do with not liking you. I just think you're a pussy. Plain and simple.

So does Audrey Hepburn.

The arrogance was flowing from his direction. Why he gets a pass when he does this, I don't know, but it happens.

You're just thin skinned, Rock.

You need to stop being a [something or other].
