No, no. Your point that the public is/would perceive it that way doesn't make sense.

So why worry about it? They're gonna do it anyway. Whether it's vote for Republicans and more black churches will burn, or vote for Republicans and more James Byrd's will be dragged behind a pickup truck, it really doesn't matter what Republicans do or don't do. Most people see through phony cries of racism, so I'm not worried. Huckabee is an idiot anyway, who cares what his opinion is? He's a fool, played by McCain in order to bring down Romney.

Huckabee is a very skilled politician. I trust him on strategy.

Huckabee is right. Republicans will get killed by attacking Michelle and Obama personally. They tried it in Mississippi in the special congressional election, and a 1 point contest went up to more than a 5 point contest.

They are really pushing the Islaam facet too, and that is going to backfire. The Laura Ingraam show has been harping on this nonstop (she is out now, but Monica Crowley talks about it daily). They are now pushing the fact that he went from "Barry" to "Barrack" as evidence that he was accepting his Muslim faith (and noted that he is Muslim because Islaamic law provides that if you are born to a Muslim, you are a Muslim- apparently Monica doesn't think Obama's choice is at all relevant in the matter). This also assumes that there is something wrong with being Muslim, which is insulting by itself.

Republicans have an uphill battle to fight, and they are getting lost before they even find that hill.

They've surmounted at least one hill, called Expanded Drilling Mtn. Obama's still looking for the trailhead.
