3D, has your high confidence in the collective wisdom of the coaches' and sportswriters' polls been shaken by TCU 32 BYU 7?

So what are you saying, that Utah will walk right over them?

No, because as I said, anyone loses a game here or there.

You seem to be arguing that win/loss is the ultimate measure of the strength of the team.

Nobody here is jumping in to agree with you. None of the pollsters agree with you.

But if you wish, continue to indulge your fantasy. Utah deserves to play for a NC! Here comes the pirate ship!

What are you talking about? Seriously. There is no "close situation." The formula has been established and agreed upon. The only "nod" is from the voters, and the coaches are free to vote as they see fit, giving the "nod" based on whatever they choose. This allows for bias toward historically successful programs as well as bias toward teams in their own conferences. It would also allow for bias toward teams who wear yellow, or who have the best human-interest story of the year, or who have the cutest cheerleaders.

Everything I have said is contingent, hypothetical. I'm not predicting anything. But it sounds like you think TCU will flatten the Utes.

You should know by now that when the board is silent that means the board agrees with me. Just look at how much help I got arguing with Lebowski and Waters about Israel. If they disagree they let me know.

THis I am certain is why Utah didn't get to play Auburn or Texas in 2004. Is this sport?

I don't think they will flatten the Utes.... I think it will be the Utes biggest test this year hands down. IMO they are a much better team than OSU and BYU. Utah has not protected BJ very well this year and they will have their hands full with Jerry Hughes.

I'm not sure. Are we speaking of college football itself, the selection of its championship-game participants, or your attempt to take on the entire board with absurd arguments grounded in an (at best) tenuous understanding of the game?
