I agree with Archaea in the sense that most things are stimulated by cash. The Euro strengthens, and bam, a European apostle to keep the tithes rolling in from the European contingency.
And fewer missionaries called to Europe.

Little did I realize how much time Hinckley and Monson spent reading the Financial Times.

PS...Wasn't he called before the big rise in the Euro?

Are you still bogged down by facts? You need to enjoy more posting freedom.

Not at all. I'm just merely pointing out that we're SO good that we anticipated the rise in the Euro. Why do you think GA's are so wealthy?

That's funny, in early 2004 the Euro hit, at that time, it's all time high against the dollar.

Uchtdorf called in Oct 2004 to be apostle.

Furthermore, the church in an effort to boost membership numbers, placed all European Church Headquarters in Germany this week.

They've been there for a long time already.

That just means they've given up on the Brits and are concentrating their efforts elsewhere.

Followed by a rebound by the dollar the next month and the rest of the year.
http://www.x-rates.com/d/EUR/USD/hist2004.html

But I guess they made the call in January (thus anticipating the death of an apostle), realizing that the rebound of the dollar through 2004 would be temporary and that it would again fall, making tithing payments in Euros essential for long-term church stability.

They ARE good.

European headquarters for the church has been in Germany for a long time. It was in Germany when I was a missionary.

Try again.
