Mock hatred dear friend. You are Tex now.

I find McCain imminently boring and am distrustful of him in that I don't believe he's a true Republican in the Reagan or even Eisenhower mode. He is old and is another terrible speaker. I don't trust him economically or on taxes. That he might select Huck, who appears to be against my clan, makes me wonder what he has against our clan.

I already know Hillary hates Mormons, so I don't need to choose between two Mormon haters.

I can't speak for Arch, but speaking as a conservative, the word "betrayal" comes to mind, and I'm not talking about his patriotism.

I actually like McCain. I liked him back in 2000, too. I think he will be attractive to the middle and find a way to represent and work for all of America, rather than just one party. I'd have preferred Romney, but I'd be happy with McCain, too.

Tex, I hear you. McCain has been a dick politically, sticking it to his fellow republicans and conservatives at key moments, almost reveling in it.

But...

Can you imagine a Hillary presidency, especially with a dem congress? Guarantees: Bush tax cuts go away, liberal activist judges appointed (who run the country anyway), erosion of second ammendment rights, revival of unFairness Doctrine, more socialism in healthcare, more spending, more general nanny statism, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory in Iraq, etc.

McCain is iffy in some of these areas, but we know what Hitlery will do. I'm gonna hold my nose and vote for Johnny.

I can think of no reason to ever vote for Hillary. Somewhat jokingly, I told somebody, if the Prince of Darkness were running, I'd vote for him, because at least he has some charisma and if you make a deal, you can have your painting hold your sins, not your face and fat legs.

I understand the argument, believe me. I was on your side of the fence in 2006. Republicans still stayed home, and the Dems won by default.

I'm not making any promises. We'll see what November brings.

McCain hates Romney. These guys are politicians. You have to understand, winning and having or maintaining power is far more important than how they feel about someone.

If McCain thinks Romney would give him the best shot at winning the White House, he would pick him in a heartbeat. Huck would be given the opportunity to head up the commision on studying if prayer in school harms or helps global warming.

And I definitely understand where you're coming from too. They're counting on conservatives to vote for McCain because Hitlery is worse, meanwhile the march towards collectivism keep going on, just at a slower pace. We can show them they don't automatically get our vote just cause they're a slightly better alternative - which I'm with you, I feel like doing - and force the GOP to return to their conservative principles. But then how long would that take and what irreparable harm has happened in the meantime under Hitlery? It sucks, I know. I just don't think we want to risk a dem victory just to teach the RINO's a lesson.

No worries. I have been a Bush-hater from about Feb/March of 2001; when it became painfully obviously what a horrible mistake we had all made the previous November.

We survived Carter. We survived Clinton. This too shall pass.
