For example, why not have the priesthood and RS sessions together on one weekend, instead of just putting the RS session (only yearly, mind you, since otherwise they put the YW session, which is another inequity. . .) on a separate week. And if they televise one, why not the other?

I know I won't get much sympathy for my view here, but my point is these kinds of distinctions send a message, and it matters.
its because men need more prodding and admonishment

So you're upset because once a year you get to watch your meeting from the comfort of your own home and the men twice a year get to clean up, dress in their sunday-go-to-meeting clothes and haul down to the church to sit and listen to something that will be published anyway?

Religion rises inevitably from our apprehension of our own death. To give meaning to meaninglessness is the endless quest of all religion. When death becomes the center of our consciousness, then religion authentically begins. Of all religions that I know, the one that most vehemently and persuasively defies and denies the reality of death is the original Mormonism of the Prophet, Seer and Revelator, Joseph Smith.

When an individual asks for something in prayer, God is not going to magically drop manna from heaven, but rather that help will come from another person. Often when we help others, we are answering prayers. On the other hand, when we hear of others in need and decide to pray for him....what are we doing, passing the buck? Essentially saying 'please find someone else to help him'?

you have my vote, let's cut out the Priesthood session altogether, and women may have theirs if they wish it. All in favor, vote aye?

Depending upon the woman, I don't see that as a problem.

RHG has a great point, why do we still have women's conference and priesthood sessions? At the priesthood sessions, it's a go on a mission and don't look at porn fest, along with, women are better than you. That forms the bulk of all discussions there. Thus with that as a trailer why have it?
