Admitted. Until I was 22 and had a few years of college and independence and developed an ethic of thinking for myself. What's the entire rest of Mormondom's excuse?

So if opposing gay marriage is analogous to supporting the priesthood ban, and people who oppose gay marriage are hateful, hubristic, and foolish bigots, and you supported the priesthood ban . . .

I'll grant you your status as having repented of hateful, hubristic, and foolish bigotry for the sake of the argument. But I should think you'd be somewhat more understanding of others who have followed your footsteps and fallen into the same trap.

Ah, so ONLY if they followed your footsteps EXACTLY are they blameless.

The real crime, then, seems not to be that of having believed or followed bigoted tendencies, so long as they did so only within the time frame allowed by your example. They are culpable from the moment they strayed from the trail you blazed and dared to think differently than you.
