That wasn't the policy in question. It was that I didn't state these things as my opinion. Nevertheless, I don't see the Lectures on Faith, writings that were canonical for a very long time, as tainting the Church or anyone in it. They don't even taint the "image" of the Church, however PR people might be defining that these days.

It's not that you used the Lectures on faith; it's that you used them to argue a point that, while possibly true, wasn't about to be handled by the mullahs. I could use nothing but quotes from the Book of Mormon to argue Joseph Smith's interpretation of the Trinity and get the same treatment.

So Elder Talmage headed a committee that decided the LoF should no longer be considered canon. If that is the case, who decided to canonize them in the D&C in the first place? Someone of lesser "inspiration" than Talmage?

Joseph Smith approved of their inclusion in the D&C.
