A blog post today reminded me a of a fun book a read a few years ago:

Roger E. Olson's History of Christian Theology: Twenty Centuries of Tradition & Reform.

Looks like a great resource base. It's great to nerdy friends with a good menu of literary tastes. Too bad I'm no nerd.

Still working on Anna Karenina and The Good Earth. Not sure after that but I'll be reading To Kill a Mockingbird again soon. I read it every summer.

Is this stuff that Lloyd's does? How would you develop a model where the actuarial data set is incomplete? Is it akin to a partial differential equation?

Who prints this book? It actually sounds fascinating to this lay person.
Incomplete markets doesn't really refer to the data being incomplete. It really refers to the available contracts (specifically state contigent claims) being incomplete.

Now the article on pet insurance talks about poisson model and regression analysis to identify claims, relying upon medical malpractice claims frequency models. It sounds odd that claims for pets would follows some pattern for human med mal trendings.

Misquoting Jesus.

Don't laugh. I got a late start and I have been extremely busy.
