Yes, I would.

I understand the dissatisfaction of many with regards to the history of the church as well as the desire for a more intellectual or logical approach to discussions of religion.

However, my faith in the church, the brethren, and the general membership is predicated upon many powerful and unassailable events that have occurred in my life.

A prophet of God leads us. The priesthood we exercise was given to man by heavenly messengers and is the only authority recognized by the almighty on the earth today to administer his church.

I am confident I would recognize such truths if presented to me, by missionary’s -for they would not need the scholarship of man but rather the scholarship of the Holy Ghost to convince me.

I'm always curious about this question, as well.

As a pretty cynical, distrusting person by nature, I think it would be very difficult for me to convert.

However, the Book of Mormon is a powerful book that speaks to me whenever I read it. So I think maybe if someone could get the non-LDS me to give the B of M an honest shot, it may have provided the faith to overcome the cynicism.

Considering the fact that I'm a convert, I guess the answer would have to be yes.

My guess is no. I don't think I would have been willing to trade three hours of my weekend for church. I probably wouldn't have been willing to give up that cold beer that I would have grown used to after my bike rides and during my meals when I would go out to eat. I wouldn't have wanted to give up my Sunday morning tee time. Without being born into the church I'm pretty sure I would have believed in God but not been a part of any organized religion.
