I disagree..
Beck would have made the 1st down and it would have deflated the Utes hopes for the win.
If he gets that first down, it boosts Cougar confidence, they score a TD and the game goes to a 2nd OT. By then, BYU's offense is confident enough to score another TD in that extra period and the defense does just enough to keep Utah out of the end zone. If only Beck had run for it, but he didn't even try. Now, you Cougar fans have to go another year of knowing that your team lost the rivalry game.

If it's questionable about running for the first down, as a couple of guys have said here, then he made the right decision. It looked to me like he made the throw to an open spot with the hope Reed could get to it, which he almost did. I think I'll chalk that one up to great defense and a great defensive call by the Yewts.

Let's see, a couple of 250 + pound linebacker/D-linemen backpeddling, having to shift their momentum forward vs. a gamer of a QB with 4.6 speed, pump fake, forward momentum and a rivalry game on the line ....
