That's a good start for a democrat. Now he needs to make a promise that he won't institute new gun control. And I can think about voting for him.

Gun control is a third rail for democrats. Even Gore and Kerry gave lip service to gun rights. Obama will in time. The fact is, most Americans (read here people who don't live in urban environments) love their guns. Not even with both houses and the presidency under their control will democrats be dumb enough to burn their popularity on this issue.

I tend to agree. Dems are making huge progress in the south and west by not talking about gun control like they used to. It won't be a big part of Obama's administration, that much I assure you.
