That was one of the many interesting conversations. From what they told me pagan is more general and wiccan is a specific form of paganism. Not all pagans are wiccans but all wiccans are pagans. But this was 15 years ago, I could be remembering wrong.

that is what I would have guessed. Probably like a bunch of baptists arguing about why they are different (no offense to any baptists, real or imagined, is intended by this comment).

If you mean a bunch of baptists arguing about why they are different from other Christians then yes.

Yes, that is what I meant. Or from each other. We were in St. Louis once and couldn't get a hotel room becasue of the Bapotist conventionS in town. I said there is more than one? The hotel people, who had just tpold me that my reservation had vanished, confirmed that there were battling conventions there and, to top it off, they didn't much care for each other so it was probably better if we just stayed outside of town anyways. This led to visions of roaming gangs of middle aged, overweight preachers trying to scream each other down in the streets.

I'm picturing them carrying sticks and clubs like in Gangs of New York. Maybe a cool tophat too, like Daniel Day Lewis wore.
