That had a line in it that my mom did not appreciate..."oh the Devil is my Savior......"

we always had to kind of lower our voices when singing that part.

The drummer from Supertramp, Bob Siebenberg - who went by the name Bob C. Bengerg - has a brother who was the long time baseball coach at Murray High School. There was always Supertramp blasting at Ken Price Field before Murray games.

I like pretty much anything from any of their albums. Great stuff.

I haven't checked, but my memory says you don't have it quite right (not bloody well right, if you will). The line was "say the Devil is my savior, that will never bother me" or somethign like that. IOW, he wasn't stating that the devil was his savior, he was merely saying that such criticism is water off his back.

I know, nobody cares.

The line is actually:

"Say the devil is my savior; but I won't pay no mind."

I wish I had known that then. We had the casette, which did not come with the lyrics.

Incidentally, we purchased the casette through one of those record clubs where you get 8 records or tapes for 1 penny, then you have to buy 6 more in the next year for about $20 each.

ACcording to a SUpertramp web site (supposedly a fan site but probably just trying to sell old but highly profitable records) the lyric is:

You can laugh at my behavior
That'll never bother me
Say the devil is my savior
But I don't pay no heed

You should tell your mom, triplet.

So here is the real question: Is the song Goodbye Strabger about leaving a woman (women) behind, or is it a guy saying goodbye ot a life of casual drug use +/or abuse. (IOW, is it a conicedence that he is saying goodbye to mary and jane? IS this his Last dance with Maryjane? )
