I don't claim to be free from the draw of materialism. I feel the pull just like most.

But now I've reached a point where I am really starting to question the tenets of modern American life. What has meaning? And what has no meaning? I want to surround myself with meaning, and distance myself from those that would suck meaning out of the air like human drainpipes.

Human drainpipe. Maybe that's better than superficial nitwit.

Music, if I remember correctly. That's a mark in your favor, that the avg. materialistic dull nitwit may not be able to claim.
I have many interests....golf, investments, expensive cars.

BTW, you never answered my question about lunch with VV back in the day. How did that go? Did he put you on the path to wealth?

I don't need to give into the urges of materialism, as my significant other has embraced it with both arms, unabashedly.

Good point. I need to read more carefully.

Yeah he put me on the path to wealth. He told me to read a book. Farrah checked it out for me. Either she returned it or I now have a $50 late fee. I never touched it.

One concrete suggestion was to not sell my home, but to keep it and rent it out. I might do that.

Actually, with the inclusion of the 2 other posts mike linked, you have read the extent of my knowledge on those topic. I am obsessed!

I just thought of more interests that I have: surfing, food, travel, skiing, sports. I am becoming less of a nitwit with each passing moment. It feels good to be so free, amongst all the ice and snow.

Cool. Set up a lunch with perhaps the most unabashed capitalist on either board with the purpose of learning how to make cash. Disappointment ensues when it is explained that in order to make cash in real estate, you first need a measure of liquidity.

Rationalize lunch meeting afterwards to maintain proletariat image.

Nice one, Che.

He invited me to come and have breakfast with him and others from CB. Told me FMCoug would be there (who never showed up). It was entertaining and I'm glad I went.

I was just trying to make Mike leave the party. Please don't be offended if I don't read your posts.
