You've got to wonder about the cost-benefit ratio. The bad ones seem to bring us an awful lot of embarrassing publicity.

Tobias: No, it never does. I mean, these people somehow delude themselves into thinking it might, but...but it might work for us.

Cough syrup comes in cherry flavors and contains alcohol, should it be sold in a state liquor store?
Was your son able to buy it?
Say someone 21 years old went to the liquor store to buy some "alcopops" at 3.2 percent and while he was there, it was next to some Everclear (80% alcohol, or something, I forget), thought that would be cool, so he got some of that, too. Now the manufacturers have just drawn the casual drinker in for the hard stuff rather than keeping them browsing the beer cooler at the grocery store. Is that good?
You can't buy Vodka or hard liquor in grocery stores in Utah, therefore you won't see something looking like water standing next to what could be Vodka.

Duh.

Having said that I don't care if they sell the stuff in the grocery store or not. I've always thought our liquor laws were really kooky.

When those of us who live outside Utah are queried about the archaic and "father-knows-best" alcohol laws in the state of Utah, I am loathe to defend them.

Perhaps the Utah legislature should also pass a law allowing the church to have employers withhold 10% of employee paychecks, since that seems to be their level of confidence in our use of agency.

As long as they don't outlaw breast implants, I have no strong feelings about what they do.

Now, if they passed a law restricting fake hooters, that could get me riled up.

There is no need to defend the Utah liquor laws, because despite all the bitching and moaning about the laws, one can purchase alcohol in Utah.
