Apparantly Creekster named his monkey Griffin the Ape. Kind of weird to name avatars if you ask me, but to each their own.

Creekster has a monkey and an ape? Wow, how does he get to be so lucky?

Water what do you think about the rest of the thread? Is BYU a better school than Texas Tech?

All I know is that Leach makes at least twice as much now than Bronco.

And before Bronco's raise that supposedly pushed him to the 900,000 range, Leach was making 5 times as much as Bronco.

TT seem to be happy with him, despite not rising to the top of the Big 12, which they must think is not really possible.

As far as whether living in Lubbock would be better than living in Provo, for me that would be like asking if living in Antarctica is better than living in the Arctic.

When Anae becomes the HC at BYU, we will have an inferior version of Mike Leach, so it will be a bit like having him.

I take all that back. I thought Leach made 2 million per, but actually I guess he makes 1.6 million per. And coacheshotseat.com has him as #22 most likely to be fired, so maybe the natives in Lubbock are getting restless after all.

So with Bronco rumored for Nebraska, UCLA and perhaps ND, what more can we expect.

I'd put BYU as a better program than TT, with a larger fanbase and more upside with the program. TT would be nuts to fire Leach.

Here are some facts and figures:

Quote:
Myers said Leach's guaranteed compensation will be $1.6 million this season, $1.65 million in 2007, $1.75 million in 2008, $1.85 million in 2009 and $2.15 million in 2010. That adds up to $9 million over five years.

Additionally, Leach will receive contract - completion bonuses of $800,000 if he's still on the job through 2009 and $200,000 if he's in place through 2010. There also are additional incentives, Myers said, that are unchanged from before. Those have to do with wins, record within the Big 12, levels of bowl games the Red Raiders reach and academic performance by Tech football players.

New to Leach's contract is a buy-out clause requiring him to pay $500,000 to leave Tech before the deal is up.

500k is actually a buyout that BYU could afford if it wanted to, I would think. Of course I think BYU would hire Anae before Leach. They could pay Anae less, plus Anae is taller and more handsome.

Texas Tech in 2006 averaged about 51k, putting them as 39th most. BYU was 26th with 60.5k.

TT's stadium only holds 53k however. TT's athletic budget in 2001 was 20 million.
