Two soft factors. The Utes/Whit/BJ have tended to play pretty well against TCU. Last year the Utes won down there, which was a big win in Whit's career. Also, Whit tends to do pretty well getting the team ready for big games.

The X factor is BJ. He has to play well tonight for the Utes to win. He can't make mistakes he has made all year against TCU and Utah IMO can't rely on their run game to win tonight. |

I tend to think TCU is an overall better team, but I think Utah wins. One, it's at home, and two, Whitt is great at preparing his team for big games.

I think Utah's defense isn't as nasty or scary or dominating as TCU's. But I think Utah's defense is solid, and its offense is more diverse and scary than TCU's.

I think TCU is overall a more athletic team, but it's tough to beat Utah at home because Utah tends to shine under national spotlight whereas BYU tends to choke.
I pick Utah by 6 for home advantage.

It's hard to pick against Utah at home. I like TCU by 7-10 on a neutral field, but Utah is tough when in the spotlight. A short week, the crowd, and the altitude are advantages for Utah. TCU is more athletic and has better coaching. I think TCU wins a close game. A field goal or less.
