Well, since you asked so nicely. In what context would #1 happen? Maybe my kids' schools are stange, but the teachers don't spend a lot of time talking about what is right and proper in a marriage. If my kids came home and said something like "Teacher said fudge-packers can get married, just like those of us who practice strict missionary position intercourse", I would probably respond with something profound like "Yeah, Daddy's OK with that". On #2, I would be OK with them going, but only if they brought signs of upside down American flags that said "God hates fags" on them. "God hates fudge-packers" would also be acceptable. If anything I am offended that we never went to a lesbian wedding.

This is about the worst anti-gay marriage argument out there: "But what am I supposed to tell my kids if they see gay people showing affection or getting married?"
My answer: "Tell them whatever the hell you want. They're your kids. But if you don't want them knowing about the existence of gay people you should probably consider moving to Iran or an FLDS compound. And even that may not work." |

First of all, I would argue it's inappropriate for a class to take a "field trip" to see ANY wedding, gay, straight, polygamist, whatever. Secondly, if not for gay marriages being allowed, this "field trip" would never occurred, and SIX year old kids would not have been exposed to this issue. |
