Peterson of course is on the LDS payroll. On the FAIR boards he's kind of like a bouncer. What he does is try to lord his expertise over everyone. But as he admits in the article ("no uncontested slam dunks") he's mostly just trying to confuse and obfuscate. Truth is his last priority. But he's just doing his job.

Right. That's why you despise him. You don't hate the guy you can beat.

In fairness to him, I think his adversaries can be just as bad or worse. And no, I don't have any links or examples. Just a general feel. |

I much appreciate a Pelagius or SEIQ approach, even Professor Mauss, to a Peterson approach. He's devoted, but I don't find his approach very enlightening. Granted, I have not read everything he's posted or published.

I don't despise him. I said he's just earning a living He's a tool. It's not easy to be a PhD in ancient relgions and find a job in your field. Academia is ridiculously, almost impossibly competitive. I bet he tried and failed to get real tenure track jobs. Goob for him making his niche in his chosen field, even if he is a mercenary.
