Yes; he's left the church.

He still believes in Christ.
Believes in Christ, but doesn't believe in the restoration?

My guess is that they got caught up in anti- literature, and then they had a villain who was very caught up in convincing everyone, subtly, to leave.

Sort of like a SU with a brain.

Well in that case, I would say the moral is: a penny saved is a penny earned.

That's right; my friend (and most of the study group) lost faith in the Restoration, but not in Christian religion generally.

All right, so here's my take on the moral of the story:

Just like two or three will have the spirit if they meet in Christ's name, and will strengthen each other; two or three meeting together where a spirit of doubt is introduced, that doubt will have an exponentially greater effect when shared.

So here's my question: I don't think we're meeting here on the guard in Christ's name; and there are many spirits of doubt that are introduced; but I feel strengthened by this board, not weakened.

Are SU and the others just ineffective messengers?

Is it the element of human face-to-face interaction; the sound of it coming out of a person's mouth, instead of just reading it on an impersonal computer?

I would never take my wife to a study group with you. I am a jealous man and you have a manly moustache.

What doesn't lead to wife swapping?

Well if I lost faith the Restoration I would lose faith in religion as a personal matter but not as a sociological process.
