Actually, Goat, you have convinced me that there is no such thing as RUTS. I have said that before but don't know if you noticed. Only wimps and whiners ever bring that issue up. I am a convert! A great victory for BYU.

How can you RUTS when your last TD with your 1st string comes with 8 minutes left in the 3rd?

From there on, BYU ran on about 65% of the plays (and probably in the 90's for plays on 1st & 2nd down).

You guys absolutely have no choice but to run up the score. This is your last BCS opponent, your last chance to prove yourselves to the voters, and based on last week's out come, it looks like if you win by any less than 60 points they'll find some excuse to drop you in the polls.

No RUTS here. UCLA just didn't show up and BYU was ready for them. A historic win for the team I really, well, dislike. Congrats.

The conference has a few teams looking good though, Utah, TCU, and Air Force.
What was most amazing was the preservation of the shutout with backups playing on defense for much of the 3rd quarter and most of the 4th. Exceptional game.

All those hours on the internet were not wasted! My wisdom is making men out of Utes one fan at a time...Seattle, I am comin' for you next!

Next we will collectively cure you of any petty dislike you have of Mendenhall, or at least help you to admit that the source is not principle but rather winning record.

I just hope he never steals anything from Shakespeare...er uh HBO.

The score was too lopsided. People just think someething went horribly wrong for UCLA, or UCLA is just horrible. Washington's debacle today only reinforces this. Had UCLA come out and played a good strong game and BYU won by 13, finally putting it away late, the win would have been more impressive to the BCS folks. This just looks freakish, like a fluke.

I had somebody today ask me if UCLA was even present for the game.
