Curtis Mayfield's - Curtis/Live is one of the best live albums out there.
Soulive has multiple live albums that you can download that are all fantastic. They are a band best heard live.

The best though is John Coltrane Live at the Village Vanguard 4-disc set. Trane at the top of his game on that one.

D'Angelo never put out the live album that he promised but his live stuff is amazing.

Love the Scorps. Back in '04 they came to the E Center with Tesla, and it happened to be on the same day as the Cougar Club luncheon there. My buddy and I had an extra ticket to the concert that night, and I went up to Gary Crowton after the lunch and jokingly asked him if he wanted to come to the Scorpions show with us that night. He sort of laughed and said "I'll have to pass". It was at that moment I knew, since he had dissed the Scorpions, he was doomed to fail.

Which actually brings up another good live cd if you're a metal head. Tesla's "Five Man Acoustical Jam" had a #12 hit with Signs.

So you are saying that Gary Crowton did not rock you like a hurricane?

I'm saying that I think coach preferred quiet nights in Provo over Big City Nights.

Good call on 5 Man Acoustical Jam. I used to have that one.

The Crowton story reminds me of something KWhitt said. He was on one of the local sports talk shows and they were talking music. He said one of his proudest moment as a father was converting his son to an AC/DC fan. So he has at least one redeeming quality.
