I'm with Pete Carroll. If the kid is truly a pro prospect it's an act of common decensy to disuade him from a mission. All these couch potatos with man boobs who took the path of least resistance to their missions hectoring a kid about not serving instead of chucking a legitimate shot at a pro career. It's wrong.

Moreover, if the kid went to BYU it would be fine for him to skip a mission. You all know it's true. BYU folks only wax pious about missions when Mormon kids go to other schools. I've never seen such a bunch of liars and hypoctrites. Look in the mirror.

I'm glad you got that off your chest, but aren't you being a tad bit dramatic? Only one poster on this thread complained about the possibility that Pete Carroll would pull the mission rug out from under this kid. Save your fire for a more egregious instance of groupthink.

SU doesn't know how to use the words "some" or "a few". He like to generalize.

Honestly, I wish the kid well.

We lose one 4 star kid today, but picked up another in his place in Afutiti.

I'm okay with it.

I dont understand the ire some show against Kav, not here, but elsewhere.

Our current QB quit his mission. Most of the BYU greats did not serve missions. What is the big deal?

If he goes on a mission, fantastic. If not, hopefully he makes an impact.

If I were Stanley Havili, I wouldn't go right now, either.

Hopefully Kav will play right away. I can cheer for him on Sep 13 when the Luckeyes come to town.

CG is not the norm. You guys are atypical. BYUTexan is.

BYUTexan is also the only poster in TBS history to be banned permanently from that site,,,and then subsequently would go to our opponents sites...like Boston College for example and get banned from there for spewing racist remarks and challenging people to physical confrontations.

He's the worst of the worst when it comes to BYU "fans".

BYUTexan was droppping f bombs a few posts back. That certainly is NOT the norm amongst the zoob demographic you are referencing.

On CB tonight, the usual suspects came out in force to blame PC for ruining Kav's salvation, accusing Kav of having no integrity, etc.. the same mumbo jumbo.

This is not an indictment of church members, most of whom have no idea who Uona Kaveinga is, nor care. This is simply a sad cross section of ridiculous BYU football junkies who have lost perspective on reality. As you said above, they have man boobs. Most BYU football fans are not going to react that way. At least I hope not.
